Here’s Our Story On How We Were Forced to Create
The Infamous Chai Tea Latte Recipe

I couldn’t believe my ears…

“So you’re telling me you’re ripping me off because you can…?”

“uh… ya”

I hung up the phone in disbelief.

But before I get into that story… Let me introduce myself:

Hey guys, this is Jas, I’m a guy with a vision. Someone who’s always strived to make our world a better place and our environment has caught my attention lately.

With your help, we’re making our local coffee shop as green as possible.

Now, back to the story

I used to serve a chai latte in my little cafe that I really liked it. I liked it so much I pitched the idea of it to a company I used to work for and let them sample some.

They liked it so much they asked if I could supply 5,600 lbs a week for this chai.

“no problem!”…

…or so I thought.

Usually, when you buy at bulk, prices go down. not in this case. When I called head office to ask if I could be able to buy 5,600 lbs a week.

They said I could, for $5.25 per lb.

Even though I had been buying from a local distributor (Chilliwack) for $4.25.

I quickly did the math in my head, that means every week I’d have to pay an extra $5,600 … A WEEK

That’s an extra $22,400 a month… (I wish I had that kind of money)

and just because they could?

Excuse the language but what kind of crap is that?

So I set out in creating my own chai.

I was like a mad scientist, mixing tweaking, matching, experimenting. Asking close friends and family what they thought until the perfect recipe was created.

And I noticed it in my store…

…I mean, people were coming just for the chai. It only made sense that SippChai should have its own Chai.

An authentic, traditionally Indian flavored with all the spices and with an added western twist like…

…like me.

Yes, you will find that sometimes in life, a “bad thing” isn’t a bad thing.

You have to find a way around or moving ahead without letting the little things become big things and get in your way – sometimes the obstacle is the way. Well our goal has always been to “change lives one cup at a time

It starts with you.

SippChai Latte is just one vehicle of change in this world.

We feel positive that, together, we can help a lot of people… and we start by making your taste buds happy.

I’ve always wanted to change the world.  Make an impact.

That’s why I quit the bank. That’s why I started a coffee shop. That’s why we started a not-for-profit, SOS Media.  That’s why I started a talk show that now gets national coverage promoting people in communities making positive changes in what they’re passionate about.

Like attracts like and I’ve met many people who want to make an impact in the world too.

One day it clicked and I thought “If we take the Chai online we’ll be able to reach and help more people across the world, quicker and impact lives sooner.”

The goal is to make a positive impact globally starting locally.

If you can’t take care of yourself…
How can you help your community❓
How can you help your neighbors❓
How can you help your city❓
Your home country❓
The world❓

I had to start from where I was and if I could inspire others through my actions, then all the better!

Coincidentally, the next day, someone came in with a similar burning passion to me who wanted to help me take this online.

Together Nick and I shared the same vision of making a difference.

People walk into your lives. Some people stay forever some people go and other people change your lives forever. Well, together (and hopefully with you), we are going to change lives forever.

As I said before, this chai latte is one vehicle for change. As we keep developing our vehicle we need you to take it for a test drive because, in the end, it’s not just us that is going to make this change, it will be you who drives it.

For now, as we continue growing and reaching out, we reach out to you and ask that you reach back and help us grow.

Please tell us what you think about the taste, share your vision of your ideal world.

Fantastic Chai! Friendly owner and relaxing interior. Outside tables are fun for casual meetings with friends. Even though it's pretty noisy in the area, you can still hear each other well enough to engage. Convenient location if you're headed either direction on highway 1.

One of our families favourite places to stop and enjoy a cup. Always exceptional service and a warm atmosphere. Today we stopped by twice. The second time to have their wonderful Chai milkshake. Yum.

Found this little gem while out for a drive. We weren’t sure from the signage outside but we thought we’d check it out anyways. Cute place! Eclectic decor, super friendly owner and my chai latte is damn good! Hubby said his coffee is good and so is the cookie! Worth checking out! Added note: I should mention that they offer house made butter chicken which we didn’t order! Drat!! Next time!

Hands down the best Chai I've had. My Starbucks Chai latte's just don't cut it now. I love the involvement in the community as well, and the events planned in the cafe. Keep up the good work! 🙂

You can tell the owner really cares. We went in for a coffee on the way to camping and he was super friendly, not in a fake Starbucks way. I ended up getting the chai and it was seriously the best chai I’ve ever had! My partner got a latte which he said was alright.

It really is the best. Cozy atmosphere, more teas to choose from than you could ever choose from, and ownership is pretty great, too! If you haven't been, you've gotta go. I'd give 10 stars outta 5 if I could!

I needed a place to study and was not from this city. This place was a total hidden gem. Big comfy chairs, an extra charger for every phone, gender neutral washrooms, relaxed/ laid back atmosphere and the owner is funny! Good coffee/tea and super accommodating! You should definitely check this place out!

Cozy and inviting. Coffee is fair trade and organic, but they are really known for their excellent Chai drinks! Staff makes you feel welcome and encourages you to stay. You'll want to stay to try more than one of the vast selections of teas. Good luck picking one. Or just go straight for the Chai!

Once you go, you won't help becoming a returning customer! Love it there, best customer service in town, good prices and the most delicious chai tea and butter chicken. A real authentic gem in Abbotsford and you'll love the atmosphere. Good place for groups or by yourself and a perfect place for a nice date!

Jaz is great! He knows and exemplifies customer service better than any other business owner I know. As you might expect, the chai is excellent as well. While sometimes it is a bit crowded, it offers nice atmosphere and very comfortable, even cozy, seating.

Locally owned with plenty of seating. If you're looking for a quick stop or a place to settle in with some friends, SippChai is worth the trip. If you come at the right times of year, there are even festive decorations. Plenty of tea and coffee options, but it doesn't stop there. Soups, milk shakes, food options and more are all available. If you're looking for something a bit less commercial, they won't disappoint.
